English Language Training

Intro. The construction industry in the UK is now being supported by more and more workers from overseas whose native language is not English. It is essential that operatives have a basic grasp of the language to understand safe systems of work, signage and other communications on site.

It is ultimately the responsibility of the employer to convey this information and this course is designed to ensure that operatives receive basic language skills training that is both focused and appropriate to their area of work. This language course can also be expanded to incorporate basic health & safety training for the operatives at the same time.
Who will benefit? Any construction worker whose first language is not English and who has difficulty understanding basic instructions, directions or communications.
What will I learn? This will depend on the requirements of each delegate with particular regard to the functions they carry out on site and their current ability level. Objectives will be agreed at the outset of the course after a short test to ascertain the level of language ability of the individual delegate.

Usually run over a 4 week block.
